Nottingham Forest Monitoring Flamengo Starlet Lorran Ahead of January Window

Nottingham Forest are reportedly keeping a close eye on Brazilian teenager Lorran as the January transfer window approaches. The Flamengo attacker has attracted interest from several clubs, but any move for the 18-year-old is expected to come at a high price.

Lorran’s contract includes a £41 million release clause, though reports suggest Flamengo might entertain “a lower offer.” Despite the hefty valuation, interest in the talented youngster remains strong, with Forest among the Premier League clubs linked to him. Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Brighton & Hove Albion are also reportedly tracking Lorran, while Manchester United were monitoring him last year.

The teenager joined Flamengo from Madureira in 2020 and signed his first professional contract in 2022 at just 16 years old. This season, he has become a regular in Flamengo’s lineup, making 19 league appearances.

Forest have seen considerable success in tapping into the South American market recently, with players like Danilo, Murillo, Morato, and Carlos Miguel thriving at the City Ground. Danilo, signed from Palmeiras in 2022 for around £16-18 million, has become a key player despite currently being sidelined with injury. Murillo, brought in from Corinthians for £11 million in the summer of 2023, has quickly increased his value with impressive performances.

Lorran could follow a similar trajectory if Forest secure his signature, continuing the club’s strategy of identifying and nurturing South American talent. Would he be a good fit for Forest? Share your thoughts by clicking HERE.
