Lopetegui desperately want Loftus Cheek at London Stadium as the Spaniard Tactician mention Former Chelsea Player as top January transfer wishlist.

The 28-year-old had an outstanding first season at San Siro, with the former Chelsea player scoring 10 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions as AC Milan finished second, behind dominant leaders Inter.

West Ham fans will be familiar with Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s abilities from his time at Chelsea. During his development at Stamford Bridge and through the England youth ranks, he was seen as one of the country’s most promising talents. It’s been nearly a decade since Loftus-Cheek made his Premier League debut for Chelsea, where he made 155 appearances despite dealing with frequent injuries.

He was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2018 World Cup after a strong season on loan at Crystal Palace but has earned only two caps since. Loftus-Cheek will likely aim for a return to the England squad under Thomas Tuchel, and a move back to the Premier League could boost his chances. He played 46 times under Tuchel at Chelsea, contributing a goal and an assist.

Former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has suggested that Loftus-Cheek could return to London and join West Ham United. This speculation follows reports from Italy linking the Hammers with a move for the ex-Chelsea midfielder.

Robinson said: “Can I see him coming back to the Premier League? Yes, I can. I think he still has time left in his career, and he’s one of those players who might develop later than we initially expected. Whether West Ham is the right fit for him remains to be seen, but a move could help unlock the potential we all know he has.”
