“All the best brotha” Sunderland Teammates send Heartfelt message to departed ACE player after finalizing no return deal to Join EPL side.
The winger had a slow start during his initial loan spell at Sunderland, managing just one goal and not even starting in the League One play-off final. However, the club decided to take a chance on him, and he went on to score 28 goals and provide 23 assists over the past two seasons.
After months of speculation, Jack Clarke completed his move to Ipswich Town yesterday. Sunderland’s sporting director, Kristjaan Speakman, praised the 23-year-old as an “incredibly gifted player” with a strong desire to play in the Premier League, a goal the club chose not to stand in the way of.
Fans have been left heartbroken by his departure, and it seems Clarke found the decision difficult as well. He took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the club and its supporters, emphasizing his love for Sunderland.
Clarke thanked Sunderland’s team, staff, and fans in his message: “Where to begin. This club has been my home for the past three seasons, and I have loved every minute of representing the club and the people who live and breathe Sunderland AFC. I couldn’t have asked or dreamt of a better place to play my football. To all my teammates I shared my experience with, to the staff who took care of me every day, and lastly to the fans who treated me as one of your own from the minute I arrived, I want to thank you all. You truly all make the club special. I wish you all the best. Until we meet again. JC.”
His post was quickly met with supportive messages from fans and former teammates. Jobe wished him “all the best,” Dan Neil sent his well wishes, Patrick Roberts expressed how much he would miss Clarke, and several others, including Trai Hume, Romaine Mundle, Jay Matete, and Lynden Gooch, all shared their goodbyes.
Clarke is expected to make his Ipswich debut in their midweek Carabao Cup clash against AFC Wimbledon before fulfilling his Premier League dream against Fulham next weekend.
Despite Clarke’s departure, Sunderland proved they can still succeed without him. The team’s performance and victory over Burnley showed they remain strong. Romaine Mundle, who scored a Clarke-like goal, impressed despite being a bit raw, and the team is still boosted by the arrival of Wilson Isidor, who could compete with Mundle on the left wing.
Things have been going well on the pitch this season, and the win over Burnley has lifted spirits on Wearside, even in the wake of losing a key player.
