FINALLY: English Journo reveal fact over Bruno Guimaraes Manchester City and Liverpool link as Player next Club revealed to be……
Liverpool’s plans to strengthen their defensive midfield were dealt a blow when their £51 million target, Spain international Martin Zubimendi, decided to remain with Real Sociedad. This setback affects new head coach Arne Slot, who has yet to make his first signing since taking over from Jurgen Klopp. However, there’s still time before the transfer window closes to secure new players.
As alternatives, Liverpool has shown interest in Teun Koopmeiners, who previously played under Slot at AZ Alkmaar. Recently, Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes has also been mentioned as a potential option. However, journalist James Pearce reports that anonymous senior Liverpool sources firmly deny any interest in the Brazilian midfielder.
This lack of interest in Guimaraes may be fortuitous for Liverpool, as the player himself has expressed contentment at Newcastle. In a recent statement to the Daily Mirror, Guimaraes said, “I am here and never said I would like to leave. Since I signed I want to put my name in club history and nothing changes.” He added that he’s not involved in transfer discussions, leaving such matters to his agent, and emphasized his happiness and focus on Newcastle.
Given Guimaraes’ commitment to Newcastle and Liverpool’s reported lack of interest, it seems unlikely that he would be a viable alternative to Zubimendi for the Merseyside club.
