JUST IN: Sunderland revisit transfer chase of 21yr Old long forgotten £6m Striker after Regis Le Bris reveal Player will be KEY prospect of his project .
Birmingham City is reportedly negotiating with Fulham for a potential £6-million transfer of forward Jay Stansfield.
The 21-year-old Stansfield, who was a target for Sunderland last year, chose to join Birmingham City on loan instead. Despite the club’s relegation to League One, he managed to score 13 goals across all competitions.
Sunderland’s interest in Stansfield resurfaced last January when there was speculation about Fulham potentially recalling him from Birmingham City. However, this move did not materialize, and Stansfield continued his stint at St Andrews.
According to The Telegraph, while several Championship clubs have expressed interest in Stansfield, Birmingham City is attempting to make a bold statement with this potential signing. Negotiations between Birmingham City and Fulham are reportedly ongoing.
Following their recent relegation, Birmingham City will compete in League One next season under the management of John Eustace, formerly of Blackburn Rovers.
