YET AGAIN: Fifth SIGNING closing in as the magpies in advance Transfer talk to SEAL permanent transfer deal of Seria A Top rated defender.

Newcastle United are reportedly close to signing AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw. The deal is said to be in advanced stages, with sources indicating to TEAMtalk that negotiations are nearing completion.

Manager Eddie Howe is looking to strengthen his defensive options following last season’s injury-related challenges. The club has already secured Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer and is now targeting Thiaw as their next acquisition.

If the deal goes through, Thiaw would be Newcastle’s fifth summer signing, joining Kelly, John Ruddy, Odysseas Vlachodimos, and Lewis Hall.

According to TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Newcastle has agreed to a fee of around £35 million for the 22-year-old German international. Sporting director Paul Mitchell reportedly identified Thiaw as a priority target, and personal terms have been verbally agreed upon.

Meanwhile, AC Milan is reportedly close to securing Strahinja Pavlovic from Salzburg as Thiaw’s replacement, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Newcastle’s transfer activity may continue beyond this deal, with reports suggesting they’ve agreed personal terms with Chelsea’s Noni Madueke. This move could potentially replace Miguel Almiron, who is expected to transfer to a Saudi Arabian club for approximately £30 million.

Barring any unexpected developments, the Thiaw deal is anticipated to be finalized in the coming days.
