CLUELESS: Confused manager that broke Sunderland fans heart by snubbing Headcoach role set to accept offer to Coach mediocre Club…. Aimless in my opinion.

After a four-month search, Sunderland appointed Regis Le Bris as their new head coach. This followed Michael Beale’s dismissal in February after just 12 games, with Mike Dodds serving as interim manager and guiding the team to a 16th place finish in the Championship.

The search for a new manager proved challenging for Sunderland. Owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus initially pursued Will Still after his departure from Reims, but Still declined, later joining RC Lens. The club then approached Liam Rosenior following his exit from Hull City. Despite initial talks, Rosenior withdrew from consideration amid links to the Burnley job, which eventually went to Scott Parker.

In an unexpected turn of events, Rosenior is now reportedly set to become the next manager of Strasbourg in France’s Ligue 1. French outlet L’Equipe broke the news of Strasbourg’s intention to hire Rosenior. Strasbourg, a sister club of Chelsea, recently parted ways with Patrick Vieira, who was dismissed after just over a year in charge. Vieira had led the team to a 13th place finish last season, comfortably avoiding relegation.

Rosenior’s appointment at Strasbourg presents new challenges, including developing Chelsea’s young loanees and ensuring the team’s survival in Ligue 1. The move represents a significant risk for Rosenior, who will be managing in a new country and language for the first time in his career. However, it also offers him a chance to prove himself after his controversial dismissal from Hull City.

The reasons behind Vieira’s departure remain unclear, with the club citing a mutual agreement. Rosenior’s appointment marks a quick turnaround for Strasbourg as they look to build on last season’s performance under new leadership.
