Leeds United joins in Tight transfer race to SIGN EPL young Talent with Sheffield and Sunderland ready to Hijack deal.
Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi Attracts Loan Interest
Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is drawing attention from several clubs, including Leeds United, as he looks set for a loan move away from Selhurst Park. The 21-year-old struggled for playing time last season due to injury and competition from more established players.
Despite Southampton’s interest, Palace prefers loaning Rak-Sakyi to a Championship club to ensure regular playing time and avoid strengthening a Premier League rival. Leeds United, Sunderland, and Sheffield United are among the interested parties, with many Championship clubs likely keen on the talented youngster.
Rak-Sakyi impressed during a loan spell at Charlton Athletic in 2022/23, scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists in League One. Palace hopes he can replicate this success at the Championship level, following the example of Omari Hutchinson’s development at Ipswich Town.
Leeds United’s interest comes amid uncertainty surrounding their current wingers, Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto. While Archie Gray’s £40m transfer to Tottenham has reduced the need to sell, the club remains open to appropriate offers.
However, Palace’s requirement for guaranteed playing time may complicate a move to Leeds, as the club already has strong options in Rak-Sakyi’s preferred right-wing position. The situation mirrors that of Jaidon Anthony, who struggled for starts at Leeds last season due to competition.
Unless one of Leeds’ current wingers departs, it seems unlikely that Palace would sanction Rak-Sakyi’s move to Elland Road without assurances of regular first-team football.
