RUMORS: Transfer news confirm Liverpool are now closer to SIGNING Olise after a HUGE advantage handed over Chelsea

ROMUORS: Transfer news confirm Liverpool are now closer to SIGNING Olise after a HUGE advantage handed over Chelsea.

What should be Liverpool’s top priority in this summer’s transfer window? Many fans believe the Reds need to bolster their defense, especially following Joël Matip’s departure from the club.

Others advocate for strengthening the midfield with a top-tier defensive player. However, insiders suggest Liverpool is also eyeing a wide forward, according to reports from The Athletic. Michael Olise of Crystal Palace is rumored to be a prime target for Liverpool in this role.

Despite making only 14 starts and 19 appearances in total this season, Olise impressed with 14 goals and six assists in the Premier League. Having extended his contract until 2027 last summer, the 22-year-old is expected to attract considerable interest and won’t come cheap.

Chelsea is another club reportedly interested in Olise, possibly seeking to reunite him with his younger brother Richard, already part of their squad. With significant financial backing from Toddy Boehly, Chelsea could feasibly meet Olise’s valuation. Reports suggest they may even offer players like Armando Broja, Cesare Casadei, and Trevoh Chalobah as part of a deal.

However, Chelsea’s sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season contrasts with Liverpool’s return to the Champions League underlining their appeal to potential signings like Olise. His contract reportedly includes a clause tied to Champions League participation, potentially setting his transfer fee at around $76.2m (£60m/€71.1m), akin to Liverpool’s investment in Dominik Szoboszlai. Could Olise be headed to Anfield this summer as a consequence?
