Alex Eala back in Rafa Nadal Academy ahead of US Open stint

Filipina tennis star Alex Eala has returned to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain, as she ramps up her training for her upcoming campaign at the US Open. The 19-year-old is using the world-class facility to sharpen her skills and build momentum ahead of the year’s final Grand Slam.

Eala, a long-time protégé of the academy, has enjoyed steady progress on the professional circuit in 2025. Her return to Mallorca marks an important stage in her preparation, with an emphasis on fine-tuning her serve, improving shot accuracy, and enhancing her physical endurance to withstand the grueling demands of top-level competition.

The Rafa Nadal Academy, founded by 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, has played a crucial role in Eala’s tennis development since her junior days. Training alongside elite players and under experienced coaches provides her with the competitive edge she needs for Flushing Meadows.

Reflecting on her preparations, Eala said she’s motivated and focused:

“Coming back here always gives me the right energy. I’m working hard and I can’t wait to play in New York.”

The US Open main draw kicks off later this month, where Eala will aim to deliver her best performance yet and continue inspiring fans in the Philippines and beyond.
