Peacock Launches Live Streams of NBC Sports Regional Networks

Peacock is expanding its live sports offerings by adding 24/7 streams of NBC Sports regional networks to its premium streaming service. This move gives fans across the U.S. more direct access to local sports content without needing a traditional cable subscription. Starting immediately, subscribers in select markets can stream live broadcasts from their regional NBC Sports channel, including pre-game and post-game shows, live games, and other team coverage. This new feature targets sports fans in areas such as the Bay Area, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., with access depending on the viewer’s location.

This change reflects the growing demand for streaming sports content and is part of Peacock’s broader strategy to compete with other digital platforms in the live sports space. With this rollout, users can now catch their favorite local NBA, NHL, and MLB teams live through the same app they already use for movies, shows, and national sports programming. The move also eliminates the need for multiple logins or switching between apps, giving viewers a seamless experience from their mobile device, smart TV, or desktop.

Peacock Premium, which is required for these streams, costs $5.99 per month, while the ad-free Premium Plus tier is available for $11.99. To access regional streams, users must enable location services and reside in a market served by one of the regional NBC Sports networks. This integration marks another step forward for Peacock as it seeks to position itself as a one-stop destination for live and on-demand sports. With sports viewership continuing to shift to digital platforms, Peacock’s latest update puts it in a stronger position to attract fans who want to follow their teams in real-time, without being tied to cable or satellite TV.
