Peupion Eager for First-Team Opportunity as January Window Approaches
At 22, Cameron Peupion has been in impressive form for Shannon Ruth’s Brighton under-21 side this season, contributing to eight goals with three goals and five assists in just five appearances.
The Australia under-23 international has also made five senior appearances, including two assists in two Carabao Cup matches. However, after missing out on a loan move last summer, Peupion is determined to secure first-team football in January.
“I definitely feel like I’m ready for first-team football,” he told the Albion website. “I didn’t get the opportunity in the summer, so until January, my focus is on staying fit and sharp.”
Having spent the last three years in under-21 football, Peupion believes he’s prepared to make the step up. “It’s important for me to continue getting goals and assists and performing well so that I’m ready when the chance for first-team football comes.”
With a strong start to the season, Peupion feels he has made a compelling case for himself. “From my numbers this season, I think I’ve shown what I can offer. Now it’s about focusing on every game, maximizing my time on the pitch, scoring, assisting, and showing why someone should give me that chance.”
Peupion, who joined Brighton in 2020, remains under contract with the Seagulls until June 2025.
