JUST IN: Huge pricetag revealed as Manchester United set for brutal transfer chase to SIGN Wolverhampton wanderers fans favorite.
Manchester United Eyeing Rayan Ait-Nouri for Summer Move
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly planning a surprise move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ defender Rayan Ait-Nouri next year, with the club ready to offer the Algerian a significant pay rise, according to The Sun.
Ait-Nouri, whose current deal with Wolves runs until June 2026, is believed to be one of Amorim’s top targets as the Red Devils prioritize strengthening the left wing-back position in 2025. The 22-year-old is reportedly seeking a new challenge, which has put several Premier League clubs, including United, on high alert.
Amorim views Ait-Nouri as an ideal fit for an attacking wing-back role, especially given ongoing injury issues for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. United are said to be confident they can lure the Wolves defender with a significant salary increase, as he currently earns £33,000 per week at Molineux.
Wolves, struggling near the relegation zone in 17th place after 12 games, are expected to keep hold of Ait-Nouri until the end of the season to aid their survival bid under Gary O’Neil.
Quiet January Expected at Old Trafford
Despite their interest in Ait-Nouri, United are unlikely to make significant moves in the upcoming January transfer window. After spending close to £200 million on new signings last summer, the club’s hierarchy is focused on maximizing the potential of the current squad.
Amorim is set to use the next few months to evaluate his team and make decisions regarding several senior players whose contracts are nearing expiration. While Amad Diallo is expected to sign an extension, the futures of Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, and Tom Heaton remain uncertain as the club looks ahead to 2025.
