“We’ve been competitive in nearly every game. In most matches, except for maybe two or three, we’ve created more chances than the opposition. But the reality is we don’t have the points to reflect that.
“We need to improve in key moments, especially offensively. We’ve had good chances, like the one-on-one with Evanilson and some cutbacks, but we weren’t able to convert. Meanwhile, when Brighton had their chances, they punished us.”

On the goals conceded, Iraola highlighted the quality of Brighton’s finishing.
“Joao Pedro’s strike was excellent, and the timing was perfect. Milos wasn’t far off, but sometimes it’s just about the precision of the strike.
“For Mitoma’s goal, it was incredibly tight. They’re a team that thrives on those runs, and while we played the offside line, it was a brilliant finish.”
