“It was a clear red card for me” Olivier Glasner makes blunt claim of biased Anthony Taylor officiating that cost the EAGLES a handful chance of getting 3 vital points.

Oliver Glasner described it as a “50-50 decision” to disallow Jean-Philippe Mateta’s late goal in Crystal Palace’s 2-2 draw against Wolves on Saturday.

The Eagles appeared to secure all three points in stoppage time when Daniel Munoz challenged Wolves’ keeper Jose Sa, who spilled the ball, allowing Mateta to slot it into the net. However, referee Anthony Taylor ruled it out, calling a foul on Sa.

“It’s a 50-50 decision,” Glasner said.

“If he blows for a foul, then it stands as a foul. But considering his approach in the previous 98 minutes, there were 30 similar duels where he didn’t call a foul. If he’d kept that same judgment, he would have allowed the goal.”

Glasner expressed additional disappointment that VAR didn’t intervene on a potential handball by Craig Dawson, which he felt warranted a red card for denying Ismaila Sarr a scoring opportunity.

“Many doubted if we could score without Eze and other key players, but the team proved otherwise,” Glasner added. “Others stepped up, with two defenders scoring from set plays, and we created plenty of chances.”

“In the end, I think a point is fair.”
