“He has the qualities to play at this level, He is an excellent player” EPL Midfield wizard make clear Elland Road new signing admission after playing alongside as Teammate.
The 25-year-old forward spent most of the 2023/24 season sidelined due to injury, making only five Premier League appearances during that time.
On Saturday, Manor Solomon made his first-ever start for Leeds United in their 2-0 victory over Hull City at Elland Road. Solomon contributed with an assist for Mateo Joseph’s goal, earning him the Hisense Player of the Match award for his performance.
De Bruyne praises Manor Solomon
Solomon first caught Kevin De Bruyne’s attention when he scored against Manchester City during the 2019/20 Champions League group stage for Shakhtar Donetsk. The two players will meet again on Friday night.
Ahead of the match, De Bruyne had praise for Solomon, saying: “I know Manor Solomon from the Premier League,” via One. “From Fulham, Tottenham, and now he’s moved to Leeds. He has the qualities to play at this level. He is an excellent player.”
De Bruyne also mentioned that Belgium would face a tough challenge against Israel: “Israel is a team with a new coach. They’ve only played two games under him, against Belarus and Hungary, so it’s not easy to say too much.”
Solomon, with seven goals in 37 appearances for Israel, will undoubtedly be one of their key players in Friday’s game.
Debut against Hull City draws praise
Solomon’s competitive debut for Leeds against Hull City, his first club start since September, has been widely praised. BBC Leeds journalist Adam Pope spoke highly of his performance on the “Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet” podcast.
Pope noted, “On first sight, the recruitment team seems to have done a great job finding players who adapt quickly to this level. Solomon stood out to me. Neal Redfearn gave him Man of the Match – he was so good. From minute one, he was superb.
“I thought he’d tire after an hour, but then he dropped the shoulder twice, delivered the perfect cross, and I thought, ‘This guy is on a different level.’ He was fantastic on the day.”
