“Not Justin” BBC pundit claim the FOX had a HUGE advantage towards young talent with “Huge potential” although Steve Cooper left Emirate Stadium with zero point.

After a week where Leicester City drew 1-1 at home against Everton and followed up with a 0-0 draw at Walsall in the Carabao Cup, few would have expected the Foxes to compete against Arsenal.

In fact, that’s exactly how the first half went. Leicester found themselves trailing 2-0 at halftime, but whatever Steve Cooper said during the break had an effect, as James Justin unexpectedly scored twice, bringing the game level at 2-2 within 20 minutes of the restart.

Leicester fought hard to earn a surprising point away against title contenders Arsenal, but their efforts were undone by a heartbreaking own goal from Wilfred Ndidi in the 94th minute. Kai Havertz then sealed Arsenal’s 4-2 victory before the final whistle.

Mads Hermansen Shines Despite Leicester Defeat to Arsenal
Leicester’s outfield players defended valiantly in the second half as they tried to hold on for a draw, but that didn’t mean goalkeeper Mads Hermansen wasn’t kept busy.

On the contrary, Arsenal managed an incredible 36 shots and 17 corners as they piled pressure on the Leicester goal.

Hermansen was in top form despite conceding four goals, making 13 saves to give Leicester hope of a potential upset.

BBC Sport journalist John Bennett was impressed by the Danish goalkeeper, tweeting: “Leicester City’s recruitment has been hit and miss over the past few years… But Mads Hermansen is definitely a hit. He’s already a top modern keeper with huge potential to improve.”

Bennett’s praise is justified, as Leicester’s recent transfers have been inconsistent, but Director of Football Jon Rudkin deserves credit for bringing in Hermansen.

Leicester paid around £6 million to sign Hermansen from Danish club Brøndby in the summer of 2023, identifying him as a goalkeeper suited to Enzo Maresca’s possession-based style.

Although Cooper’s approach hasn’t focused as much on Hermansen’s ball-playing ability, the 24-year-old has proven to be a reliable Premier League goalkeeper.

Cooper knows Hermansen will be crucial in Leicester’s fight to stay in the top flight, and the Danish keeper will be hoping for a quieter game against Bournemouth in their next outing.
