LATEST TRANSFER GOSSIP: Murillo gives honest opinion towards Real Madrids recent interest reveal next Club to be….

Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has set ambitious goals as he aims to become one of the top defenders in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has made a significant impact since his £11 million transfer from Corinthians just over a year ago. He broke into the starting lineup last October and has since become a regular fixture in the Reds’ team.

His impressive form and seamless adaptation to English football have naturally caught the attention of other clubs. During the summer transfer window, there was plenty of speculation about his future, and this week, Real Madrid was reported as the latest club monitoring him.

Despite the interest, Murillo remains focused and grounded, believing he has room for improvement. While a big move seems inevitable at some point, his current focus is on continuing to develop with Forest.

“This is only my second year as a professional, so I still have a lot to learn,” he told Premier League Brasil. “I believe I’m on the right path and just need to keep working hard. Maybe one day, I can be among the top five defenders in the Premier League.”

In the near term, Murillo hopes his performances for Forest under Nuno Espirito Santo will earn him a call-up to Brazil’s national team. He’s reportedly included in a 45-man preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, with coach Dorival Junior expected to announce the final list soon.

Regarding his absence from previous national camps, Murillo said, “I’m not sure why I haven’t been called up yet, but it’s probably because of the strong competition for spots. There are great players in my position, but I’m staying calm and aiming to have an outstanding season. When I get my chance, I’ll make sure I never leave.”

He added, “The players representing Brazil are incredibly talented, especially in defense with Magalhaes, Beraldo, Militao, Marquinhos, Bremer, and Fabricio Bruno. It’s a tough competition, but I believe I’m on the right track. When you play well for your club, the national team starts to take notice.”

Murillo also noted the difference in playing in Europe, saying, “Players here might be more skilled or experienced because of the fast, intense football in Europe. Adapting here can lead to better performances for the national team. It’s not just about playing in the Premier League; it’s about dedication and commitment.”
