JUST IN: Real Madrid set to Bolster transfer chase of £11m Forest ACE as Ancelloti include player in January Transfer wishlist.
Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Nottingham Forest’s Murillo as a potential centre-back target from the Premier League. Since his £11 million move from Corinthians, Murillo has impressed with standout performances in Forest’s defence. His solid displays have attracted attention from major clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea, though he chose to remain at Forest, believing it was the best place for his development.
Now, at 22, Murillo continues to grow, forming a strong partnership with summer signing Nikola Milenkovic, which has helped Forest remain unbeaten early in the 2024/25 season, including a notable clean sheet in their historic win at Anfield. According to HITC, his performances have drawn renewed interest from Real Madrid, who are looking for top talent in the Premier League after missing out on 18-year-old Leny Yoro to Manchester United in the summer.
Murillo’s rising presence and passing skills make him an appealing alternative for the 15-time European champions. While Forest will want to retain their star defender for as long as possible, the club can take some solace in knowing that Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in other defenders, including Arsenal’s William Saliba, Tottenham’s Cristian Romero, and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.
However, even if Real Madrid doesn’t secure Murillo, Forest may still face competition from other top clubs. La Liga leaders Barcelona and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also said to be monitoring the young defender’s progress.
