HUGE DISREPECT: “Normally this team isn’t ending up in top 10″ Alisson Becker mocks and scrap off Nottingham Forest win revealing it was an unnecessary defeat

“Normally this team isn’t ending up in top 10″ Alisson Becker mocks and scrap off Nottingham Forest win revealing it was an unnecessary defeat.

Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker criticized Nottingham Forest’s tactics after Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side claimed the win, with substitute Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the decisive goal.

Liverpool had enjoyed a strong start to the season under new head coach Arne Slot, winning their first three Premier League matches before the international break. However, their momentum was halted by a disappointing performance against Forest.

After the match, Slot expressed his dissatisfaction with Liverpool’s display, while Alisson voiced frustration with Forest’s defensive approach.

“Losing points at home is very disappointing, especially when the opponent was only focused on defending and playing long balls,” Alisson said. “We made it too easy for them when they scored. Defensively, we were poor, and we lacked energy and quality. We’ve lost three points unnecessarily today.”

He also acknowledged Forest’s strong defense, adding, “They threw themselves in front of the ball and defended really well.”

Slot echoed Alisson’s frustrations, saying, “The result is what frustrates me the most. We didn’t create many chances, and we have to be better, especially with the ball. Our decision-making and execution were not good enough.”

Slot highlighted the challenge of facing Forest’s well-organized defense, saying, “We had a lot of possession, but only created three or four good chances, which is far from enough. If you dominate possession, you need to be better. We lost the ball too many times in simple situations, and that was the main issue.”

He concluded, “Losing a home game is always a setback, especially against a team that doesn’t usually finish in the top 10. It’s a big disappointment.”
