“Daniel Farke should not get him into the starting XI against Burnley” Leeds United Legend totally disagree with Farke decision of making poor finisher a starter this season despite Masterclass against Hull City

“Daniel Farke should not get him into the starting XI against Burnley” Leeds United Legend totally disagree with Farke decision of making poor finisher a starter this season despite Masterclass against Hull City.

Piroe came off the bench in the second half during Leeds’ 2-0 victory over Hull City last Saturday in the Championship at Elland Road, scoring one of the goals.

Despite this, the Dutch forward has found himself out of the starting lineup, with only one start in Leeds’ first four Championship matches this season. Daniel Farke has opted to start Mateo Joseph as the lead striker, with Brenden Aaronson playing just behind him in the number 10 role.

While Piroe demonstrated his finishing ability against Hull, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that this performance alone shouldn’t immediately earn him a starting spot.

Robinson emphasized that Piroe needs to be patient for his opportunities this season, noting that Farke finally has a strong squad with various options. He acknowledged that Piroe had plenty of chances last season, where his inconsistency frustrated many fans.

Although there’s a push for Piroe to return to the starting eleven, Robinson argues that one goal shouldn’t alter Farke’s plans, especially since the current lineup has performed well in the last two games. He doesn’t expect any changes against Burnley after the international break.

“The manager now has a squad with depth to choose from. Piroe had his chances last season, starting well but his inconsistency frustrated fans,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“When a player comes off the bench and makes an impact like that, there’s always a call for them to start the next game. But the team in the last two games looks strong, and that’s what Farke wants.

“So, players like Dan James, Max Wober, Joe Gelhardt, and Patrick Bamford, when they get their chance, need to do what Piroe did. Will Piroe start? No, I think Farke sticks with the same team.”
