“He is intelligent” Skysport Pundit discuss MAJOR Olivier Glasner locker room incidence that prank Chelsea defense to be vulnerable for Eze.

Austrian manager Oliver Glasner finally ended Crystal Palace’s dismal streak of 13 consecutive league defeats against Chelsea, as a brilliant goal from Eberechi Eze leveled the match after Nicolas Jackson’s opener.

So, how did Glasner inspire Crystal Palace’s comeback against Chelsea? Let’s break it down…

How Oliver Glasner Helped Crystal Palace Secure a Draw Against Chelsea
According to the Daily Mail, Glasner, 50, turned to video analysis during halftime to show his Crystal Palace players what went wrong in the first half against Chelsea.

The Daily Mail noted that it was “unusual” to see such a significant improvement from the Eagles following this tactical session.

Whatever Glasner showed his players, it clearly paid off.

As WhoScored reports, Crystal Palace took seven of their nine shots in the second half, with all five of their corners also coming after the break.

A Bit of Luck
While Glasner rightly deserves praise for his tactical adjustments, the most impactful change – Cheick Doucoure replacing Will Hughes – came with a stroke of luck.

In truth, Hughes should have received a second yellow card from referee Jarred Gillett after fouling Cole Palmer in the 48th minute. The Crystal Palace bench recognized the danger, and Hughes was substituted moments later.

This leniency from Gillett allowed Doucoure to change the game, with the £21m midfielder making two successful tackles, one interception, one clearance, one dribble, and committing zero fouls – while also taking the shot that led to Eze’s goal.

In comparison, Hughes committed three fouls, made only one tackle, one interception, and recorded no dribbles or clearances, as WhoScored highlights.

In our opinion, Doucoure will likely retain his spot in the starting XI over Hughes, assuming he has fully recovered from his injury issues.

While Crystal Palace may have had some luck on their side, they were certainly due for some after Sam Barrott’s controversial decision in the 2-1 defeat to Brentford, where he prematurely blew his whistle, negating a fantastic free-kick from Eze.
