Oh No: Sunderland Face HUGE injury blow die minute to Portsmouth Clash… How will Le Bris lineup his men?

Alese had been enjoying a strong start to the season, but earlier this week, he sustained an ankle injury during training. Scans have now confirmed that he will face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

A statement from Sunderland, released before today’s match against Portsmouth, said: “Alese will undergo further tests next week to finalize his rehabilitation program, with the 23-year-old currently aiming to return to action after the November international break.”

In response to Alese’s injury, Sunderland bolstered their defense on deadline day by bringing in Bournemouth’s Chris Mepham on a season-long loan. However, the Wales international isn’t available to play today, so Dan Ballard will make his first start of the season alongside Luke O’Nien.
