“What is this all about, clear off and sign someone else” BBC pundit ridicule and disrespect Leeds United board life on TV show following new Transfer development as Deadline edges… You can’t imagine how disrespectful this looks like.

Leeds United has denied reports that the club made a player-plus-cash offer, allegedly involving Joel Piroe, to Sheffield United for Gustavo Hamer, according to Graham Smyth. The club is also not pursuing a move for Hamer before the August 30th deadline.

Speaking on Football Heaven (BBC Sheffield, 29 August), Staton criticized Leeds for their seemingly contradictory approach to the Hamer situation.

He said, “Why would such a report come out if it wasn’t true? Leeds are now denying it and have signed another midfielder, but it’s confusing.

“What’s going on at Leeds? If you want Gus Hamer, go and sign Gus Hamer. Make the deal happen. If not, move on and sign someone else. What is this all about?”

Will Leeds United go after Gus Hamer?
Leeds quickly dismissed rumors of a move for Hamer, but as Staton pointed out, there’s usually some truth behind such reports.

Daniel Farke has been active in the final days of the transfer window and still needs a replacement for Archie Gray before the deadline.

FC Koln’s Dejan Ljubicic has been the most frequently linked name to Elland Road in recent weeks. However, that move has stalled as Leeds has prioritized attacking reinforcements or possibly identified a better option.

Finding a better replacement for Gray than Hamer would be difficult for Leeds. The 27-year-old was a standout performer in the Premier League with the Blades, despite their relegation, and was outstanding in the Championship with Coventry City.

So far, Leeds has been cautious in their recruitment, avoiding overspending despite the funds raised from player sales this summer.

If there was ever a time to make a big investment, it’s now. Hamer would significantly improve Leeds’ midfield and signal their intent to the rest of the Championship.

Leeds are favorites for automatic promotion this season (Opta Analyst), but success in the Championship is never guaranteed. Leeds should go all-in on Hamer to enhance their midfield and boost their promotion chances.

In other news, Leeds has made a direct approach for Roland Sallai.
