GOOD NEWS: Personal terms reached as Crystal Palace now edging to SIGNING Ace defender personally handpicked by Olivier Glasner to be perfect Guehi successor.

Crystal Palace is exploring transfer options amid uncertainty over Marc Guehi’s future, with Newcastle United still pursuing the 24-year-old defender despite having four bids rejected.

Palace has identified Maxence Lacroix as a potential target, with personal terms reportedly agreed. The 24-year-old Wolfsburg defender is currently Palace’s top choice for the center-back position, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg. Manager Oliver Glasner, who has previously worked with Lacroix, is keen on signing him either as a replacement for Guehi or as an additional defensive option.

While no agreement has been reached between Palace and Wolfsburg yet, negotiations may be facilitated by Lacroix having only one year left on his contract. Palace is also considering other options, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Odilon Kossounou, though he’s not currently a priority.

Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah has also been linked with Palace, with a reported valuation of £25 million, but no significant progress has been made on that front.

Lacroix made 31 appearances for Wolfsburg last season, scoring four goals as the team finished 12th in the Bundesliga.
