SAD NEWS: “His contract maybe terminated” Leeds Prodigy maybe stranded with no Clubs just weeks after sealing a permanent move.
Leeds United has seen several significant player departures recently. The most notable is Archie Gray’s £40 million transfer to Tottenham, making him the club’s third-highest sale in history, behind only Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, and surpassing Rio Ferdinand.
Other exits include Crysencio Summerville’s £25 million move to West Ham and Glen Kamara joining Rennes in Ligue 1. Charlie Cresswell has also moved to France with Toulouse, while Real Betis has acquired two Leeds players: Marc Roca and Diego Llorente.
Norwegian goalkeeper Kris Klaesson, who made just four appearances for Leeds, has joined Polish side Rakow. However, his stint at the new club might be short-lived. Polish media reports that Klaesson returned from pre-season training overweight, prompting Rakow to implement a fitness plan for him.
Despite this, Rakow fans allegedly spotted Klaesson at McDonald’s, contradicting his prescribed diet plan. This incident has reportedly angered the club to the point where they’re considering terminating his contract, barely a month after his arrival.
Klaesson’s situation at Rakow is particularly precarious given that he had only recently established himself in Leeds’ first team, playing three games last season when first-choice keeper Illan Meslier was suspended and backup Karl Darlow was injured.
Leeds has since brought in Alex Cairns as Klaesson’s replacement. If Rakow does indeed cancel Klaesson’s contract, the young goalkeeper could find himself without a club just weeks after leaving Leeds United.
