Leeds United’s Potential Bargain: Ryan Kent

Leeds United may have an opportunity to sign former Rangers winger Ryan Kent at a bargain price. According to Haber Ekspres, new Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is not keen on Kent, potentially paving the way for a move to Leeds.

While reports suggest Leeds have offered around £2.5 million for Kent, former player Paul Robinson believes the club could secure him for even less. Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson stated, “I think Leeds can get him for even less if the new manager doesn’t want him. With £2.5 million being mooted, I reckon they could get him for a couple of million euros instead (£1.7m).”

Robinson added that Kent’s work ethic and defensive capabilities make him a good fit for Daniel Farke’s system. He emphasized that acquiring Kent for a minimal fee could be a very good addition to the squad.

The potential signing of Kent could be seen as a replacement for Crysencio Summerville, who recently departed for West Ham United. Summerville, named Championship Player of the Season with 19 goals and nine assists, leaves a significant gap in the Leeds squad.

While Kent’s career has somewhat stalled since leaving Rangers last summer, with only 19 appearances for Fenerbahce, a move to the Championship could rejuvenate his career. During his time at Rangers, Kent impressed with 33 goals and 56 assists in 218 appearances.

If Leeds can secure Kent for less than £2.5 million, it could prove to be a low-risk, high-reward transfer. The move could provide Leeds with a new and exciting talent on the left flank as they aim to bounce back to the Premier League.

In related news, Leeds United and Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in Fode Ballo-Toure, with a concrete offer already on the table.
