Oh No: Injury HIT the EAGLES as Olivier Glasner gives positive update on Freshly injured midfielder.

Crystal Palace’s pre-season training is in full swing under Oliver Glasner’s leadership, building on the positive momentum from last season’s end. Despite facing injury challenges, the team adopted a fresh playing style in the latter half of the previous campaign.

Fans are optimistic that this form will carry into the Premier League season, encouraged by recent pre-season results, including a draw against Charlton and a high-scoring 6-3 victory over Crawley.

Cheick Doucoure, who had been sidelined with an Achilles Tendon injury, briefly returned to action but has encountered another setback during pre-season preparations.

Doucoure’s injury situation remains a concern. After missing much of last season, the midfielder was working towards a comeback at Selhurst Park. However, during the Crawley match, he required medical attention after an off-ball incident. Although he continued playing, he was substituted at half-time as a precaution.

Manager Glasner addressed the situation, stating to PalaceTV: “I hope it’s nothing serious with Cheick Doucoure today, but it looks not serious.” It’s uncertain whether Doucoure will be available for the upcoming match against West Ham in the USA.

Once fully fit, Doucoure could be a significant asset for Glasner, who hasn’t had the opportunity to use him in competitive matches yet. The 24-year-old midfielder’s impressive start at Crystal Palace, combined with the team’s new playing style, could lead to exciting developments.

There’s potential for a strong midfield partnership between Doucoure and Adam Wharton, which could be crucial for Palace’s future. While it remains to be seen how Doucoure will fit into Glasner’s system, there’s anticipation that he could excel in this new setup.
