JUST IN: Agreement reached as the Eagles confirm £12.6m Deal is now sealed to SIGN electrifying Ligue 1 winger.
Crystal Palace is set to acquire Marseille striker Ismalia Sarr for £12.6 million, with the player expected to sign a five-year deal. Marseille’s president has approved the transfer, allowing Sarr to return to the Premier League. The forward will travel to London for a medical examination before finalizing the move.
Palace’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, has reportedly been interested in Sarr for over six years. Although Sarr was considering staying in France, he was open to rejoining a Premier League club.
This acquisition will bolster Crystal Palace’s attack following Michael Olise’s departure to Bayern Munich. Sarr is familiar with English football, having spent four years at Watford where he scored 34 goals and provided 22 assists in 131 appearances between 2019 and 2023.
Sarr joined Marseille last summer for an undisclosed fee. The French club plans to use the proceeds from this sale to pursue Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, following their recent signing of Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
