FINALLY: Crystal Palace now find £25m Portuguese playmaker that will make Eze forget about Olise departure as player ready for EPL move.

Crystal Palace’s summer transfer window has been eventful, with both positive and negative developments.

The departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich is a significant loss for the Eagles. However, they’ve managed to bring in talented players like Chadi Riad and Daichi Kamada.

Eberechi Eze, another key player for Palace, has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs. The funds from Olise’s transfer might help the club retain Eze for the upcoming season under manager Oliver Glasner.

Recent reports suggest that Palace is pursuing Sporting CP’s Marcus Edwards. The club reportedly had a £13m bid rejected, with Sporting valuing Edwards at around £25m. This higher valuation is partly due to a 35% sell-on clause owed to Tottenham Hotspur.

The transfer isn’t straightforward, as Tottenham and Saudi Pro League’s Al-Nassr are also interested in Edwards. Despite potential complications and cost, Palace sees Edwards as a valuable addition who could form an effective partnership with Eze.

Edwards’ recent performances in Portugal have been impressive. Over the past three seasons, he’s consistently contributed goals and assists, with his most productive season seeing 26 goal involvements in 51 games.

If Palace can secure Edwards, it could alleviate some of the creative and attacking responsibilities from Eze. The potential pairing of these two talented attackers could significantly boost Palace’s offensive capabilities.

While the £25m price tag is substantial, Palace views Edwards as a worthwhile investment who could enhance the team’s attacking prowess and potentially bring out the best in Eze.
