YET another HUGE betrayal to Leeds United after clubs most Loyal management member reveal he has completed agreement to JOIN Leeds rivals ahead of next season.
Leeds United Undergoes Significant Changes Under 49ers Ownership
The 49ers ownership group, led by Paraag Marathe, has been implementing substantial changes at Leeds United, aiming to establish Premier League-level foundations for the club’s eventual return to the top flight.
Their initial focus was on revamping the recruitment department, moving beyond the one-man operation of Victor Orta. The club has now assembled a team including Nick Hammond, Gretar Steinsson, and Jordan Miles to work alongside manager Daniel Farke on transfer matters.
Other notable changes include the departure of long-serving goalkeeping coach Marcos Abad and a role shift for academy manager Adam Underwood.
In the latest development, Rob Price, Leeds’ head of medical for the past seven years, has announced his departure via LinkedIn. As reported by BBC journalist Adam Pope, Price has taken up a similar position at Derby County as their sports science and medical lead. This move comes as Derby prepares for life in the Championship following their recent promotion.
Price’s tenure at Leeds coincided with Marcelo Bielsa’s demanding regime, which placed significant stress on players’ fitness and led to numerous injury concerns. While Price faced some criticism during this period, the extreme physical demands of Bielsa’s system made injuries difficult to avoid entirely.
It remains unclear whether Price’s departure was initiated by Leeds or was his own decision. Regardless, the club will now be searching for a suitable replacement to lead their medical department.
This latest change underscores the 49ers’ comprehensive approach to restructuring Leeds United, as they continue to review and revamp various departments within the club. Their goal appears to be creating a robust infrastructure capable of supporting the team’s ambitions for promotion and sustained success in the Premier League.
