OH NO: “Looks worrying now” Aston Villa might be HIT with HUGE injury woes after Clubs medical team reveal KEY player will likely face fitness problem next Season.

According to injury expert Dr. Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, Aston Villa may consider parting ways with the £120,000-per-week Lucas Digne this summer due to his injury history and age. Speaking to Villa News, Dr. Brar stated:

“Considering his injury history and wages, I imagine the club will try to move him on if they find a suitable replacement. In terms of his fitness, it is difficult because previous injuries are the greatest predictor of future injury – especially muscular ones. He will have to be even more committed to his on and off-pitch habits to try and regain consistent matches and match fitness. He’s also on the wrong side of 30, which is not ideal as the average player is past his peak by then.”

The Athletic reported on June 4 that the French international could potentially be shown the door at Villa Park this summer. Digne’s injury setbacks during the past campaign, coupled with his age, have raised concerns about his future injury risk and potential to maintain consistent fitness.

A potential sale of Digne could be viewed as a pragmatic business decision for Aston Villa. The club’s cautious approach is influenced by his past injuries and the fact that he’s over 30 years old, which increases the likelihood of future setbacks. Given these factors, moving Digne on now, when his value is relatively stable, could be a strategic financial decision for Villa, especially if they can secure a suitable replacement.
